A very useful interface for studio Guests, whether located in the Control Room (same room as the mixer)
or in a separate Studio or Booth.
An illuminating momentary action push-button which operates in conjunction with an associated ‘mic channel’ in OctoMix.
When the corresponding fader on OctoMix is DOWN, the button initiates TALKBACK, activating the mixer’s PreFade system, allowing a Guest to communicate with mixer operator even though his fader is down.
Under these conditions (fader DOWN), activation of the corresponding PF button on the mixer will cause the remote button to FLASH, as a CUE or ‘pre-alert’ warning to the Guest.
When the corresponding channel fader is opened the remote button illuminates steadily (and the mixer PF function is auto-cancelled). This alerts the Guest of a MIC LIVE condition.
Under these circumstances (fader UP), activation of the remote button mutes the audio in the corresponding channel, and causes the ON light in OctoMix to flash, alerting the mixer operator that the Guest is Coughing or does not want to be heard.
The MIC REMOTE panel is supplied on a flush mounting panel with captive 1.5m cable, terminated in a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack, which plugs into the Mic Remote connector on the rear of OctoMix.
Extension cables are available when the Mic Remote is located in a different room.
The diameter of the mounting plate is 85mm, with two fixing holes on a 75mm pitch, and the hole for
the switch needs to be 50mm.
