The Clyde Outside Broadcast Unit securely houses all of the essential equipment you need to run a radio broadcast from a remote location.

Unique to the Clyde OB is the quality of broadcast equipment and its integrated design when compared to traditional radio in a box solutions and other mobile units.  Custom connector panels and a 1U rack-mounted monitor loudspeaker promote a robust construction and quick setup time while maintaining and small footprint.

 

8U Slanted Rack-case

The heavy duty, rotomoulded plastic case features twist latches to securely fasten the removable lid and back sections.

The 4-11-8U case contains the following pre-wired equipment:

  • 8 Channel professional broadcast mixer with dual power supplies
  • Multi-channel USB sound card and intelligent mixer interface
  • 1 U Rack mounting stereo loudspeaker
  • 2 x Mounts for angle poise microphone arms
  • Custom connector panels (front and rear) for quick assembly and connection
  • Media player with FM/AM Receiver
  • Rear power distribution panel

Air Software (MA)

Content creation, management & broadcast

Air (MA) is supplied with Clyde’s OB Premium Package.  The complete suite of radio software incorporates tools for each process associated with the creation and broadcast of radio programs.

Options

Meeting the needs of a wide range of applications, the following additional items can be fitted and supplied alongside the OB unit.

• Mil-standard case

To help protect the OB equipment then being stored or shipped, this option is a roti-moulded, air-tight and waterproof case, into which the slanted rack-case assembly fits snuggly.

The case is moulded of (LLDPE) polyethylene impact resistant / UV stabilised materials that meat or exceed MIL_STD 810 and MIL-C-4150J specifications.

 

• External speakers

For application requiring more precise monitoring, the rack-mounting speaker unit can replaced by a pair of bi-amplified external monitor speakers, supplied with cables for easy connection to he mixer’s monitor output.

 

• Third microphone position

A third microphone, stand and headphone can be supplied, for situations where a presenter and two guests are required.

 

• IP Codec

For connection via an IP network, the codec provides a high quality audio connection back to a HQ or transmission site, subject only to the available bandwidth and QoS.
IP codecs can also include silence detect and backup media players.

• Mobile Phone & Audio Interface

Send callers to air using this rugged mobile phone and audio interface solution.
The package includes a dual SIM 3G/4G capable Android rugged mobile phone, tested to IP86 standards.

The phone connects to the rack-mounted audio interface installed into the 8U slanted rack-case which also features 4 x USB charging points.

 

• FM/AM Transmission

With a choice of transmission power from 50W to 2kW, with in-built processing and MPX encoder, these packages are supplied in a rugged self-contained case.

Quick rig masts are available, and these packages are supplied with the appropriate antennae, pre-terminated feeder cable and cable from the mixer.
